Fowler Museum at UCLA

On October 5, 2019, the U.S. tour of the Through Positive Eyes exhibition launched at the Fowler Museum with an opening night party featuring live storytelling by the seven members of the Los Angeles Through Positive Eyes Collective. This was also the first chance to view a new art installation by Los Angeles artist Alison Saar. Opening night offered us the opportunity to make a collective commitment to banishing the stigma associated with HIV.

Iziko Museum’s Slave Lodge

The Iziko Museum hosted Through Positive Eyes in one of the oldest buildings in Cape Town, the Slave Lodge, which reflects on the long and rich history of South Africa under the umbrella theme, "From human wrongs to human rights." Live personal storytelling by the the HIV-positive members of the Cape Town Through Positive Eyes "Artivist" Collective took place at the exhibit regularly.

Adler Museum of Medicine

To enable faculty, students, HIV/AIDS activists, NGOs and the public to engage with the exhibit at The Adler Museum of Medicine at Wits University, the museum hosted a program of events to commemorate World AIDS Day on December 1, 2016. Through storytelling, video and audio, faculty showcased research alongside the work of the "artivists" in the gallery.
